Me and Natalia at The Ravenscroft in Scottsdale.

First off, here’s the link to the podcast where I am interviewed by a Child Temperament expert of whom I am a huge fan, Wendy Gossett, author of Your Child’s Inner Drive: Parenting by Personality from Toddlers to Teens

I’m a HUGE fan of legit personality analysis. It has helped me with two important things:

  1. Understanding myself better
  2. Understanding other people better

…thus enabling me to have better interactions with my family, friends, and colleagues.

Natalia was a long time coming, but she was right on time. And I have spent so much effort and thought and time wanting to be the best mom I can be for her.

I hired a child temperament expert over a year ago after having read her best-selling book a few times (literally).  I originally bought the book when Natalia was only 2 so it was a bit early to judge her personality.  However, I had guessed by the time she was 2 ½ that she was either INTJ or ENTJ.  I had thought INTJ for sure but once she really started speaking (which wasn’t particularly early since we are raising her bilingual in Spanish/English), it became apparent that she was thinking out loud.

ALL. THE. TIME.

And that’s a huge indicator of an extrovert, duh.

About a year ago when tantrums were maxing out my patience (and I’ve been shocking patient with this child, unlike most every other area of my life), we decided to hire Wendy to help us find more peace in the home.

Wendy confirmed my suspicion that Natalia has my same exact personlaity type. And I know some of you will scoff and say she’s too young, but as the days pas she only demonstrates more and more ENTJ characteristics.

Wendy said in our first consulation

“Congratulations! You’ve cloned yourself!”

As with anything, there are pros and cons associated with this reality.  But you’ll have to check out the podcast to find out more!
