One of the best take-aways from the Nashville trip is that I learned about how to better record the drums. We finally got to test out my new-found techniques on the drums last Monday night and they sound awesome!

I’ve been putting off recording my own songs for the past year since I was busy with the co-writing project. But now I have time to focus more on my own work and I’m really excited about the possibilities!

The best part is that I didn’t have to spend any more money, with the exception of an extra mic stand. Everything else I already had in my arsenal. I just didn’t know the best ways to use what I have. But when I was in Nashville I learned a lot through careful observation and, of course, annoying the engineers with all my questions! 🙂
