Being near the water

I love being near the water.
This is the Puget Sound. We are on a public rocky beach in between low and high tide. On a clear day, you can get a great view of Mount Rainier.
It’s good to get away up here because our home isn’t in Seattle proper, but in the woods around the Puget Sound, about an hour away from Seattle. Everything takes longer. We’re 30 minutes away from any decently-large city.
But there are several beautiful parks and beaches like this one, and the people from the “big cities” nearby frequently come out here to get away.
I grew up in the deep woods of Alabama, on a private lake and 200 acres of wooded lands. Being up here feels like home, but with a lot less bugs.
